Fibre also regulates your blood pressure levels in the body. It aids in lowering both the systolic as well as diastolic blood pressure levels.

Fibre is less in calories; it keeps your tummy full preventing you from consuming snacks and high calorie foods throughout the day. On the other hand, it aids in weight loss as it lowers down the absorption of sugar from the intestine.
As you age, the quantity of food you consume decreases. Though this is important, you should consume a good amount of protein, minerals and of course, fibre. The latter helps in digestion by providing energy to your digestive muscles.
Keep in mind that your consumption of fibre should be in grams. The daily dose of fibre intake for adults should be around 30 grams. (Most of us don't even consume 15 gms)
