This is another insect-borne disease. Malaria is significant in the winter monsoon season as infected mosquitoes breed in rain water areas.
Caused by the bite of the Aedes aegypti mosquito, Chikungunya is one of the deadliest winter monsoon disease which can be prevented if tanks and water storage areas are cleaned regularly. The symptoms of Chikungunya are high fever, joint pain and severe headache.
Viral fevers are also common in this season. Along with viral infections, common cold and cough affect the immunity. Avoid consuming dairy products and fried foods.
Typhoid is another disease which is caused due to contaminated water. One should avoid drinking water that is not boiled. The symptoms of typhoid are fever, sore throat and headache.
Yellow fever is a common sickness in the monsoon season. To avoid this deadly disease, you should drink only boiled water and should avoid street food at any cost. Vegetables should also be washed in salt water before cooking to kill the harmful germs.
